Editor’s Note: It is rare that a timely article remains timely, exactly as written, more than two years later, but this has happened in the case of the article that Savvy Street published January 16, 2021, on the “Navarro Report” and the press conference at which Dr. Navarro presented it.

Dr. Navarro presented what he characterized as plentiful and powerful evidence that the presidential election had been rigged.

In 36 pages, Dr. Navarro presented what he characterized as plentiful and powerful evidence that the presidential election held just a month earlier had been rigged in favor of candidate Joseph Biden. He asked reporters merely to read the report for themselves and make up their minds. He had collected extensive information on all six “battleground” states—states that right up to election day seemed still “up for grabs” by either candidate. He called the attention of reporters to more than 150 references in the report documenting his challenge.

Virtually no mainstream media outlet ran any story on the report.

Virtually no mainstream media outlet ran any story on the report. Instead, they focused on Navarro’s alleged violation of the Hatch Act—because he may have worked on the report during the hours he was on his government job. Navarro, in the press conference, explained repeatedly that he had researched and written the report on his own time, at his own expense. It did not matter; it was the story the media chose to run. Nothing on the substance of the report.

Readers know the aftermath. Very soon it was absolutely forbidden in the media (and soon on social networks) to even imply there might be any question about the outcome of the election. Supposedly “hard news” stories reporting any questions of any kind by characterizing them as “untrue statements,” “erroneous statements,” “false statements,”—never “allegations,” “questions,” or “challenges.” The story was closed. Not discussable. Over.

But Dr. Navarro’s story had only begun. In February 2022, he was subpoenaed, based on his report, to testify before the House Select Committee on the January 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol. He refused to comply, asserting executive privilege. Congress referred the case to the Biden Justice Department. Navarro was indicted on two counts of contempt of Congress in June 2022.  He pleaded not guilty. His trial is set for September 5, 2023.

Savvy Street has decided to re-publish its story on the Navarro Report. It remains as true now as then that Navarro’s circumstantial evidence and plea for a thorough, unbiased investigation have been ignored.
